DIVERSITY & iNCLUSION
At Wisbech Baptist Church, our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion is unwavering. We hold the belief that God cherishes diversity and seeks to include those who face marginalization, a principle that is evident throughout the Bible.
We celebrate our differences, not only because it reflects God’s example but also because it makes us stronger. Embracing the unique aspects of our identities, cultures, and life experiences enriches our community, fostering acceptance and contribution from all members.
Our dedication to recognizing and celebrating diversity is matched by our commitment to continual improvement as an organization.
The responsibility to integrate this into our daily practice falls on every member of Wisbech Baptist Church. To guide this effort, we have a dedicated team leading specific initiatives:
– Engaging with external research and studies, and examining strategies other organizations have implemented to effect change.
– Building relationships with communities and churches that exemplify inclusivity, allowing us to learn and understand the necessary changes.
– Investing in training for inclusive leadership among our members and leaders.
– Prioritizing and elevating the voices of individuals with firsthand experience of UK poverty, as well as churches that are intimately aware of their community’s needs, to inform and direct our approach.
We intend to engage with our members through focus groups, reverse mentoring, and surveys to gain a deeper understanding of the internal issues that need to be addressed.
